Meeting Date April 23, 2010 Time of Meeting: 10:30 A.M Location of Meeting: Chester Library Meeting Called to Order: The meeting was called to order and everyone welcomed by Marti Fann, President. She thanked Carol Dutcher, Richard Leslie, Louise Yuntz, and Louise Williams for the refreshments. Note was made that more members need to sign up to bring refreshments if we want to continue having them. Minutes: The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read. Treasurer Report : Carol reported a current membership of 27 with member fees of $720. Expenses of $132.58 leaving leaving a balance of $584.42. Website : Fred Fann indicated more pictures are needed to
add to the website. Classes and Workshops: Our president mentioned there are
no classes or workshops in the immediate future. However the open studio is on-going every
other Thursday from 10 – 12 noon the
next being May 6th. She
encouraged members to participate. Old Business · The Celebration of the Vine went well. Twelve members participated. Several artists sold work and three donated pictures that were raffled. The raffle proceeds went to the Art Foundation. · The Art Banner which was made by Wilson’s Print Shop and used at the festival was on display. This will be used in future functions. · The Art Foundation is holding their Annual Meeting and silent auction on June 10th, a fund raising event. The foundation is in need of a secretary. Monthly meetings are held on 3rd Tuesdays at 1:00 pm. Please let them know if you are interested. · Those interested in hanging small animal pictures at the Chester Animal Clinic, please let Marti know. Plans are being made to hang there in May. · The Art Association will hang at PRAC in June. Two to three pictures should be delivered by June 8th.
New Business: · Our club year will end in June. One half of our financial balance will then be given to the Art Foundation. · Marti also indicated the county has submitted the new budget which informs the Art Foundation that no bonds will be sold to help with the building until 2012. · The Collage Club of Richmond is having Baxter Perkinson as a guest speaker, the meeting to be held at the Cross Roads Art Center, May 17 at 1:30 pm. Everyone is welcome. · Marti informed the club that our June meeting will be a picnic either at her home or the home of Janice Visser. · Our May program will be presented by Less Harper on May 28.
